The person underneath the therapist hat.
To me, therapy should feel like sitting with someone who is real. Someone who has made mistakes, moved through difficult seasons, and understands that life can feel complicated and messy at times. This is how I hope to show up for you — as a person first and a therapist second.
While my formal professional training began over 15 years ago, my journey toward this work has been lifelong. I am no stranger to personal, relational, and mental health challenges, and I believe these experiences are part of being human. More recently, navigating postpartum and the layered transition into motherhood has deepened my understanding of what it can mean to be a woman, a mother, and a parent. I believe our stories, relationships, and environments shape how we move through the world — and therapy can offer space to better understand those patterns with compassion rather than judgment.”
My approach to therapy is grounded in curiosity, connection, and a deep respect for the many ways people experience the world. These values have been shaped through my own life experiences, the relationships that have mattered to me, and the privilege of hearing others’ stories throughout my work. They remain at the heart of my practice at Stone & Oak Psychological Services.
Outside of Stone & Oak, I wear a few different professional hats — including teaching graduate students, conducting research, and presenting at conferences and community events. More often, though, you’ll find me spending time with my daughter and partner, getting lost in creative projects, golfing with close friends, or appreciating the quiet wonder of nature.

Looking beyond symptoms.
Many of the struggles people experience do not happen in isolation. Emotional overwhelm, conflict, anxiety, disconnection, or feeling “stuck” are often shaped by our relationships, life experiences, and the ways we’ve learned to protect ourselves over time.
My approach is relational, systems-based, emotion focused, and trauma-informed. Together, we look beyond symptoms to better understand the patterns influencing your emotions, relationships, and ways of coping — creating space for clarity, connection, and meaningful change.

Relational & Systems-Based
Many of our struggles make more sense when understood within the context of our relationships, environments, and life experiences. Drawing from family systems therapy, we collaboratively explore patterns across your history and relationships to better understand the values, emotions, and protective ways of coping that may still be shaping your life today.

Emotion Focused
Our emotions hold important information about our experiences, relationships, and needs. The ways we experience, express, and respond to emotions are often shaped through early attachment relationships and past experiences. Using Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), we explore these emotional patterns and protective responses to create deeper understanding, connection, and change.

Trauma-Informed
Trauma is not always the result of a single event or intense emotional reaction. Our brains and bodies often store difficult experiences as important information meant to protect us in the future, shaping how we experience ourselves, others, and the world around us. I use a trauma-informed lens throughout my work to support safety, understanding, and thoughtful therapeutic care.
While these approaches form the foundation of my work, therapy is always tailored to you.
I also integrate additional modalities and interventions depending on your goals, experiences, and needs.
